Equal-Eyes is not a game. It is a self help medical aid to be used for the intent of training the vision system of individuals carrying the burden of Lazy Eye and all of the physical and emotional problems associated with strabismus.
Equal-Eyes does contain games, however these games are therapy oriented and are visually controlled in a strict environment to add fun to the experience as well as contributing to your visual well being.

It has been designed as both a tool for the use in the comfort of your own home to supplement on-going Visual Therapy or for those that understand the nature of their vision impediment and wish to continue with their own treatment.
It is important to note that unlike Equal-Eyes, the use of Off-the-Shelf VR Games is not in anyway an effective substitute for training your visual system and in fact can be detrimental to your 3D perception.
Equal-Eyes modifies the animations and images projected to the eyes independently and in a controlled manner to provide the necessary stimulus and geometric adjustments that are required for the therapy to operate.

Amblyopia
By temporarily reducing the strength of the strong eye to balance that of the suppressed weak eye, the weak eye is switched on and forced to work with the strong eye. This is quite unlike the eye patch where one eye is completely covered.
Equal-Eyes ensure that both eyes participate in the therapy. This is absolutely essential in order to develop the fusional elements of the visual cortex and improve the vision of the weak eye.
Strabismus
In it's various forms of Diplopia, Exotropia, Esotropia etc. Equal-Eyes provides geometric calibration of your eyes which sets the foundation for the exercises available within the application.
Head Injury
Trauma from head injuries can result in condition related to strabismus. Equal-Eyes is able to treat the visual repercussions.

What does it involve?
Equal Eyes provides a series of exercises tailored for a recommended one-hour daily routine. These exercises present subtly different images to each eye, aimed at overcoming occlusion caused by the weaker eye. The software is engineered to prompt the brain to fuse these images during training, gradually forming a cohesive three-dimensional perception.
Following the initial alignment, the dominant eye's image is adjusted by reducing brightness and/or defocusing. This prompts the weaker eye to engage. Once the brain achieves a balanced perception, the exercises can commence. Detailed descriptions of these exercises are available on this site.
