Equal-Eyes Installation

Installing Equal-Eyes using SideQuest on your Mobile or Headset

Equal-Eyes can be installed using SideQuest. If you already have Sidequest installed on your headset or your mobile phone, search for Equal-Eyes and install using the Sidequest App. If you don't have SideQuest installed, please check out this video

Alternatively, if you wish to use your PC or MAC to install Equal-Eyes, please follow the instructions shown below.

Installing Equal-Eyes using your PC or MAC

At minimum you will require

  • Access to a Windows PC.
  • A USB Link Cable (Supplied with the headset)
  • Important! For Windows 10/11 users,  You will need an installed copy of the official Oculus Quest PC Desktop App Software obtained from here
  • SideQuest Advanced installer for the PC or Mac available here (You will need Sidequest Advanced on your PC. You don't need sidequest installed on the Headset).
  • A copy of the purchased equal-eyes APK file.
The PC does not need to be VR ready. The Oculus PC Software  is only installed to activate the drivers required for SideQuest.

Please follow the video below to install the Equal-Eyes APK file. If you prefer, here is an external general step by step guide to Quest Sideloading of software.

Once Equal-Eyes is installed on the headset, the Windows or Mac PC is no longer required.

Additional Information - ADB installation.

If you are still having problems connecting then the following procedures may help.

The number one reason is because the Android Debug Bridge (ADB) has not been installed.

Windows PC -  ADB installation

On occasion, it is possible you are unable to connect to your headset using SideQuest.

If using a PC Please check you have followed the official Device Setup Procedure (PC)

MacOS - ADB installation

Download the Android SDK Platform Tools ZIP file for macOS.

Extract the ZIP to an easily-accessible location (like the Desktop for example).

Open Terminal.

To browse to the folder you extracted ADB into, enter the following command: cd /path/to/extracted/folder/

Connect your headset to your Mac with a compatible USB cable. Change the USB connection mode to “file transfer (MTP)” mode. This is not always required for every device, but it's best to just leave it in this mode so you don't run into any issues.

Once the Terminal is in the same folder your ADB tools are in, you can execute the following command to launch the ADB daemon: ./adb devices

On your device, you'll see an "Allow USB debugging" prompt. Allow the connection.

Alternative Installer - Oculus Quest Developer Hub

With the headset connected, open the Device Manager Tab and use the "Add Build" button to browse to the unzipped EqualEyes.apk file.
